Late Night Thought Bazaar A bazaar of thoughts springs up to life tonight. Yesterday, it was a kiosk at the end of an alleyway.

2 Scarecrows Are Into Fashion and Fitting Clothes I took a dive into the pond beyond the boundary of sanity, one night. Turns out, it was an ocean. I drowned and I saw the world with madness waters on my eyes.

2 Magpie of Excuses Oh what a lie, what a lie you live. What a lie you live with such vigour. Why are you surprised by your tired heart, then?

1 All Tongue and No Heart On better days immortal mountains were backyard gardens we ran in and groomed. On better days, forests bloomed like springtime flowers and all that was needed was a touch.

Gods Live in My Eyes Fight the fates, the furies And thus you give in Let them envelope you in their claws And yet you let them win There's no freedom Only the illusion of one So the struggle or lack thereof Lands us on the same island It's the same boat we sail on

The Copper Urn Because someone left a broken tumbler once and suddenly, the only light we see is what it gives off. So we scramble madly, moulding copper and the hole in it too.

I Must Stand With the winds, flew my heart. The cage was only ever for something material, abstract things cannot be captured in earthly confines. They can only be held back by something equally abstract. Did I take too long to carve an escape?

Erased and Merged I will be with my back to the window pane and I will give parts of myself to every world. Scatter, petals, on this wind and leave no trace.

1 The Cloud That Wears Your Skin Don't be my Sun, don't let me be Icarus, don't show me promises of a golden sky, I prayed. I never thought I'd fall in love with the clouds instead. The sun would have been easier to love, the fall would have lasted seconds. The ground I'm stuck on makes me heavy, the sky you fly in makes me insignificant. I look up anyway.

1 Matters of the Head and the Like The devil's scared of the whispers in your ears, the thoughts in your head and your reflection in the mirror. You don't know if you are, anymore.

Masquerade You would have been so much better, darling, if you had chosen to be yourself. Instead, you chose me and look what you did. Now, we watch as I burn us down. The mirror bears witness to our masquerade ball.

1 Dreamland Dirt I hide between words, from reality. I give names to my excuses and cower in refuge, smeared in dreamland dirt. Reality is too weak when it comes knocking and yet has knocked me six feet underground from where I pretend I live. Under that dreamland dirt.

And You, You Are My Poem All I have to show are singed hands And words dwindling into the whirlpools of my blood I wish you were birthed out of something else

Ship of Dreams It is always this question. Where does my heart wander and where do I want it to? On those waters carrying my dreams, or on the land rooting me in reality?
Poetry: Life, K+, English, Poetry, words: 263, 10/8/2018
Halcyon Days I close my eyes and I have this picture in my head My imagination is intact As is reality There's a song playing in the background I hum it, but the second I think of the words I do not know the music anymore

Driftwood But someday, as the wind flips the pages Maybe my story might come to light And just for a moment I could be part of the tree I fell from And then the winds can carry me away

Exist As I Do I'm ready to spiral into hell, to let these feathers be singed, to be branded into the depths for the sin of existing as I do.
