My Stories 117
Libertarian Hymn
A lengthier piece of mine; written as a semi-spiritual, semi-political Devotional Ode to Liberty Herself.
Poetry: Religion, T, English, Poetry & Spiritual, words: 928, 6/20/2022
A Spectre of Shadow
This is my attempt at continuing the Macabre and fantastical Literary Tradition of H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allen Poe and the like... Intended to instill cold chills on the cheek and goosebumps on the neck, and not necessarily to opine upon the profound.
Poetry: Fantasy, T, English, Poetry & Horror, words: 127, 6/20/2022
Sunrise
A very short Poem detailing and glorifying a morning's Sunrise: A simple concept, yet... Timeless, and ever-more-beautiful.

So Always to Tyrants
Intended in part as a condemning sentence on the monstrous infant "holiday" of "Juneteenth", a date held up as celebratory of the abolition of American slavery, a sentiment beyond noble. Yet, the very brand being propagated employs a Marxist / Communist fist and a Cross of Nero juxtaposed as it's logo. Such bold-faced trickery has always been the way of Tyrants and Demagogues.

Lullaby to a Southern Child
A poem of mine focused on the fierce cultural independence and rich Identitarian history of my very own Homeland: the American Southeast. It must be noted that a much lengthier work of mine exists elsewhere which tries a similar theme. This other work is called "The Dixiad", and although it remains incomplete at this hour, this shorter poem cannot be fully understood without it.

Song of Three Rivers
This work is a heartfelt love-song to the mightiest of the broad Western rivers: The wide Mississippi River, the ever-contended Rio Grande... And the deep, Canyon-graced Colorado current. May all three of these wondrous Works of God forever flow across the Continent in joyous Earthly Harmony.

Letter to a Mosquito
Upon re-reading a very old and whimsical Poem by the Scottish bard, Robert Burns, I was inspired to pen this trivial but witty thing: an address of self-less and sympathetic gratitude to an often-disease-ridden airborne Insectoid parasite of the Tropics of the World.

Credo
As "If" is to Rudyard Kipling, and as "Invictus" is to William Ernest Henley: this piece of my own, is to my literary repertoire. I believe this to be my masterwork, so far, perhaps followed closely by my as-of-yet-unfinished American epic: "The Dixiad". Now, it is up to me, my pen... and time itself... to outdo it!

A Medieval Wood
The other night, I thought: "I have been taking to the pen quite often, as of late; still, I have not written a poem purely and solely pontificating on the natural world." I then promptly attempted such a simple task: and failed. Here is the otherwise-successful result.

Patton's End
General George S. Patton is regarded by most of the world as an American hero, by many Americans as a brave martyr, and by some bitter folk: as a cruel and overbearing conqueror; yet, few on Earth know that he was also an accomplished poet.

The Lay of Blackbeard
Sea shanties and the ballads of maritime piracy amongst them have been springing up from covered galleys since the days of the Greek Trireme. Here is my attempt at fusing the classical Victorian literary cadence with the waltz-like structure of a shanty. The theme tried: Privateer-Captain Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard, terror of the Atlantic.

The Ghost of Josephus Daniels
This short ditty is a respectful yet condemning nod to a certain ancestor of mine: a great and terrible man, who most likely strove to do good for himself and his own at an awful time in American history.

The Martian Convert
In light of several recent developments (a few of them involving the endeavors of billionaire Elon Musk, and likewise the potential colonization or possible terra-forming of our neighbor, the red planet), I have written a brief narrative poem detailing the capacity for Catholic mission work on a human-inhabited Mars. This piece is somewhat of joke.

The Fall of Sodom
A hymn-like song regarding the future demise of all unholy empires. Focusing on the present-day United States, the larger theme can be applied to any such evil regime throughout history.
Poetry: Religion, T, English, Poetry & Spiritual, words: 241, 6/18/2022
Cannon Hinnant's Dream
I am from central North Carolina originally, so the murder of Cannon Hinnant is very personal for me. May he rest in peace, and may new policy avenge him. I believe it is essential to remember pains and woes if one wishes to make a change.
Poetry: Family, T, English, Poetry & Tragedy, words: 504, 6/17/2022
The Massacre at Potomac
This poem is intended as a commemorative epitaph for Ashli Babbitt and every other patriotic martyr slain by U.S. Capitol Police on January 6th, 2021. With that being said, I leave this work to the court of history to judge.
Poetry: Politics, T, English, Poetry & Tragedy, words: 355, 6/17/2022
1The Dixiad
Here is a national epic poem for modern America, a Homeric account of the U.S. Civil War, perhaps the true gory birth-mother of this vast empire of freedom. I present to you: The Dixiad! It is a true tale of long-told history and of prophecy, yet to unfurl the full breadth of it's warlike banners... of the birth of a Western imperium... as of yet, unfinished.
