"I've got nothing to lose... yet nothing to gain."
I'm guessing that thing will be up there forever.
Anyway, for those of you kind enough to care: I'm looking for this story on Fictionpress about two friends (boys) playing cards (I forget what game) with some nice bits of poetry sprinkled throughout and it's a tad angsty. It's quite a well-written one-shot, complete with a contemplation on the meaning of life, I think. Or was it love? Bah, if only I could remember the title or even the author's penname. So, drop a line if you know what I'm talking about :)
And the only line I could remember for the life of me is, "Did we do the right thing?" I'm not even sure I got that right :/
