Novella. When science finally destroyed all major diseases it came with a price: woman could no longer live past their fifteenth year. In the wake of this there was a huge mission to repopulate the earth which created dozens of orphans who were taken in by religious convents. Fox and Rabbit come from the house of St. Ursula and struggle to come to terms with there brief lives.

The Chandler's Daughters
My father often told us: "The wick is like a vein. It is an organ that slithers underneath the surface of the clammy wax. It holds both the heat and the flame. It is the heart. It is the center." There were four of us, a strong even number—there was no center daughter, although secretly we all hoped we were his favorite child.
