3Lines Written the Day After Leaving Highschool Today I was bereft, but too numb to feel anything. I felt I had a right to cry and feel grief, but emotionally marooned, I'd have accepted any clear-cut, identifiable feeling. In this poem, trying to articulate the void helped me to define it.
