I'm so honored that you stopped by my little bookshelf. I love writing, and I love receiving everyone's comments even more. It is the best encouragement and motivation to continue writing.
I've been working on Searching the Heart for about 4 or 5 years now (amazingly enough). As I grow older and read more, my writing grows and matures (or so I hope). And as an author, I can never be truly satisfied with my own work, always finding something to change or improve. I think it still needs work, even as I am currently editing and revising. Maybe someday I will truly complete it.
Searching the Soul is the sequel to Searching the Heart, and I began it a few years ago, but never finished it, having found I'd written myself into a complicated dead end. I have returned to it now, with a slightly different path which I hope will prove more successful.
I just began Change of Blood, having been caught up in the whole vampire genre after reading the Twilight series and the Sookie Stackhouse series. Both are intriguing in their own ways. I like how Stephenie Meyers steps away from certain vampire myths; she also creates a very strong connection between the reader and her characters, though her plots leave a lot to be desired. Charlaine Harris remains more faithful to vampire myths, but she incorporates vampire society within our own, lifting them up as a "new minority". That is what I have tried to do, while also staying away from popular myths. Change of Blood still needs lots of work, but I can't expect it to be perfect after so short a time.
My other stories are being put on hold as I work on these other ones, which are currently my favorite. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.
