My Stories 219
4 Changing Seasons It's been a long time my friends. I was listening to Snow Patrol's song "If There's A Rocket Tie Me To It" and was struck by some strong old feelings. I felt they were worth penning. I hope that you enjoy them. God bless you my friends.
Poetry: Love, K, English, Romance & Spiritual, words: 194, 3/25/2012
4 Stain the World Red with Truth A poem inspired by a Rise Against song, cliche as that may sound. Starting to edit my work more to make my imagery and metaphors fit a little more snugly with the message of the piece. In time I am hoping to write pieces with a less pessimistic tone.
Poetry: Life, K+, English, Poetry & Poetry, words: 345, favs: 2, updated: 2/26/2010 published: 11/17/2008
2 Vermillion Silence Most of my work is spontaneous and unrevised, but idea for this poem struck me a few days back. Tonight it finally coalesced. It's the first poem I have posted on here in months and months. So I hope that you enjoy it, and that it moves you.
Poetry: War, K+, English, Drama & Poetry, words: 101, 9/28/2009
3 A Man Dressed In Red The first poem I've felt comfortable publishing in a long time. A lot has happened in my life since I last posted here. I hope that you are all still along for the ride. Nothing reminds us of the vividness of life more than art. Thank you for stopping by.
Poetry: Life, T, English, Drama & Spiritual, words: 153, 4/6/2009
3 Cattails This was a personally challenging piece. Difficult to compose and even more difficult to post here. I wrote this upon a whim and the inspiration of a passing thought. It is written in my old style, with emphasis placed on rhyme scheme. I hope it holds up
Poetry: Nature, K, English, Poetry & Spiritual, words: 205, 11/12/2008
1 Relapse A poem about self-doubt. A struggle to conceive, get out, and edit. I hope that it moves you. Thank you for reading. I initially considered titling this "The Unanswered Question."
Poetry: Life, K+, English, Poetry & Drama, words: 407, 11/4/2008
5 Duty This is a profoundly personal piece that I do not share lightly. On personal, artistic, and emotional levels this is who I am, undiluted and raw. Here is a part of me many do not often see, I share it with great hesitance. Heavily edited, for once.
Poetry: War, T, English, Spiritual & Poetry, words: 489, favs: 3, 10/26/2008
3 Parade of Ash A poem I dedicate to one of my close and dear friends.
Poetry: Friendship, K+, English, Poetry & Drama, words: 241, favs: 1, 9/8/2008
4 The Candle I Found Every compliment, critique, and kindness poured out upon me here has helped me grow more than I could ever hope to on my own. Without your encouragement and presence, I would not be as strong a poet as I am today. So thank you, to all of you.
Poetry: Life, K+, English, Drama & Spiritual, words: 315, favs: 1, 8/29/2008
5 Follow the Flowers Home I found this to be a fitting piece for both how I feel and the day, being the Fourth of July or rather our Independence Day. I hope that you are touched by my words, or that they move you. God bless.
Poetry: Life, K+, English, Drama & Poetry, words: 181, favs: 1, 7/4/2008
3 Dark Age I would like to thank Just As I Am for inspiring me to start writing again. I've been so caught up in life lately I've been forgetting to catalog my experiences artistically. Sadly, there is no brightness in this work. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy it.
Poetry: Life, K+, English, Tragedy, words: 327, favs: 2, 6/3/2008
3 I Have Not Known Regret A darker piece, stressing the struggle with guilt and coming to terms with oneself.
Poetry: Life, T, English, Poetry & Drama, words: 266, favs: 1, 4/8/2008
2 My Clay Skin A poem inspired by emotion and a certain scent and feeling I experienced while driving home after a spring snowfall. Written to the Angels And Airwaves song "Everything is Magic." I hope that you enjoy it, please share your thoughts and feelings on it.
Poetry: Life, K, English, Poetry & Spiritual, words: 193, 4/6/2008
5 Garden Listening to my favorite band I wrote this. It's partially inspired by their song Desert Garden, at least conceptually speaking. A metaphorical and allegorical piece, and a different tone. Let me know how it touches you, critique also welcome.
Poetry: Love, K, English, Romance & Poetry, words: 215, 3/16/2008
2 Echoes of Death A poem about the battlefield of the mind, also possible spiritual interpretations. Death here being a metaphorical death of the mind or of the soul. I dedicate this poem to all those who struggle to find meaning in life and to those of us who have fallen.
Poetry: Life, K+, English, Poetry, words: 478, favs: 1, 3/15/2008
4 Let Beauty In A softer, moody, reflective piece. It feels to me of moonlight and dreams. It's been so long since I truly breathed clearly and was able to feel thankful for the air in my lungs.
Poetry: Life, K, English, Poetry & Romance, words: 407, favs: 1, 2/23/2008
2 Discordant An experiment with simultaneous metaphors, written differently then my normal work. Perhaps not as impactful, but we'll see. I hope that you enjoy it, and as always thank you for taking the time to stop by and read my work.
Poetry: Life, K+, English, Poetry, words: 289, 2/21/2008
3 My Meadow Take a walk with me, friends and passersby. Walk with my in my meadow so that you might see what lies beyond the grass. Feel what I feel, and let me share my soul with you. Breath the air in this place, and let the feelings soak in. Stay a while.
Poetry: Life, T, English, Tragedy, words: 550, favs: 1, 1/29/2008
4 Ms Novocaine I dedicate this to one of the truly distasteful people I know and all those like her. If you know me in real life, it's likely you know who I am talking about. This is a harsh critique of her ways and I do hope that you find it interesting.
Poetry: Life, T, English, Drama, words: 331, 1/27/2008
4 Reflections A poem inspired by a line from Marx Garza's poem Suicide. A poem about the lie that is suicide and how tragic its consequences are.
