My Stories 46
Wings »
Two short poetic prose pieces. This is an attempt at dark beauty and an experiment in style, I was trying to go back to the feel of my Dunsanian pieces without actually mimicking Dunsany. I believe it's a success on all counts. T for death & blood

I'll Only be Here a Moment
The machine operates on time, and here where there is no time it is nothing other than a lump of a rather interesting carbon fabric, it does not even hum. I cannot return to time.
Fiction: Sci-Fi, K, English, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, words: 1k+, 2/19/2011

Power Outage
I've always loved power outages. There was one last summer, and the when the power came back, I fired up the computer and typed this. Then I stashed it in an odd corner of my harddrive and forgot about it, and then just now I found it.
Poetry: Life, K, English, words: 95, 1/3/2011

Whisper
This is a very very short bit I wrote a while ago. I've always thought it could be part of a larger piece, but anything I do with it lessens it. I've finally decided it can stand on its own.
Fiction: Fantasy, K, English, Spiritual, words: 68, 11/23/2010

Darkness
Absolute blackness. Darkness which can itself be seen, and through which nothing else can be seen." A short descriptive piece.

From the Edge of What Is Not
He came from the Woods, the twilit Woods at the edge of What Is. He came to the cities and told tales of the Wood from which he came." A short piece, almost a fragment. I think I've been reading too much Dunsany and Lovecraft.

Centuries
This is not verse, instead it is meant to use cadence and sound and the visual quality of the words to convey an atmosphere which compliments the meanings of the words. Best viewed in a serif font such as Perpetua or Sylfaen. Forgive the lack of indents.
Poetry: General, K, English, Poetry, words: 51, 8/1/2010

The Poet and His Poem
A poem in prose with no moral, no meaning and no intent aside from the obvious . If I had to say what this is about, I'd say "it's about art". Inspired by too much Oscar Wilde .
Fiction: General, K, English, Poetry, words: 432, favs: 1, 4/16/2010
3
Let Words Flow
A short, self-referential piece about the writing process. The previous sentence sounds trite. This is a short poem, the only way to know what a poem's about is to read it. I heartily appreciate reviews, both negative and positive. Thanks.
Poetry: General, K, English, Poetry, words: 67, favs: 2, 3/28/2010

Each Loamèd Tear
A very short bit of what might be poetry. I spent over a month refining this into what I hope is perfection. Yes, it is about someone, someone most of you know. Ask me and I might tell you. Feedback, both laudatory and unfavourable, is much appreciated.
Poetry: General, K+, English, Poetry & Romance, words: 47, 3/5/2010

I weep for Adonais
This is, to an extent, autobiographical. I shall let you decide for yourself to what extent.
Fiction: Romance, K, English, Romance & Tragedy, words: 151, 2/22/2010

What is a novel but a dream on paper?
A short Something which I dashed off the moment it came to mind. Just a few lines on such lofty matters as dreams, life and reality.

Some Lines Worth Writing
Every now and then I think of a sentence or a phrase that really should be a quote, but that I'm obliged to put my own name after. Many of them start as ideas for essays but never get written because I manage to distill the thought into a single line.
Fiction: Essay, K, English, words: 392, 1/16/2010
2The Dreams of Raymond Wighte
Raymond Wighte dreams, that's what he does. And then the dreams stop. The first part of a projected novella. Never mind the genre tags, there weren't any that fit so I approximated it. Please note that any archaic spellings are intentional.
Fiction: Fantasy, K+, English, Fantasy & Spiritual, words: 759, 12/23/2009
2
Theodwita
Theodwita is an Anglo-Saxon word roughly meaning Historian or Loremaster;I tried to capture the essence of that idea. I'm not sure if it works or not, but I'm trying to set it to music anyway. I'm annoyed that there is no "Historical" genre tag here.
Poetry: General, K, English, Poetry, words: 100, 7/12/2009

Feathersorg »
Three pieces about Feathersorg the Penguin which I wrote in 2006. Each is a very different style, and all three are surpassingly silly.
