My Stories 53
1
Broken
Short. Poetic. Very powerful, rated as such. "A soft and shaken body is cradled on the stoic slate stage, wracked with vivid memories, haunted by eternal demons."
Fiction: Essay, T, English, Hurt/Comfort, words: 212, 8/21/2008

Apathy
Short. Poetic. As the last drops of humanity are shed from my soul, I realize this may be the last piece I ever write.
Fiction: Essay, K, English, words: 231, 8/21/2008

untitled 3
Short. Tight. ABCB. A single stanza, but that's all it takes. She broke my heart. End of story.
Poetry: Love, K, English, Hurt/Comfort, words: 15, favs: 1, 8/21/2008
Haunted
Haunted. "do not part from hell, dear light/ stay and whisk away the night"
Poetry: Life, K, English, words: 131, 8/21/2008
Portal
Short. A breath-taking reminder of why we endure: "a silent whisper/ these sepia clouds."
Poetry: Life, K, English, Spiritual, words: 64, 8/21/2008
Identity
I can't for the life of me remember what this type of poem is called... each line starts with "Identity is." I'll figure it out lol. "Identity is unconsciously giving others permission to be themselves."
Poetry: Life, K, English, Spiritual, words: 214, 8/21/2008
1
Numb
Short. "I am me, and I cannot be touched."
Poetry: Life, K, English, words: 66, 8/21/2008

Memo
Short. Poetic. "And to Abram God said: 'Go for yourself, out of your country, from your birthplace and from the house of your father.'" "But how am I to find my place?" he surely replied. And that was before being betrayed.
Fiction: Essay, K, English, Angst, words: 339, 8/21/2008
Awry
Short. Oh how many poems I wrote for you... what was it worth?
Poetry: Love, K, English, Hurt/Comfort, words: 34, 8/21/2008
Venom
Rated for language and imagery. Your betrayal was venomous. "sever all ties from the head to the shoulders/ hack away, no clean cut required/ she's a f*cking mess anyway/ maybe blood stains will be nice decor"
Poetry: Life, T, English, words: 169, 8/18/2008
Poison
Tight rhythm, strategic rhyme. Short and sweet. I absolutely love the way this came out! I can't bear to spoil it for you by adding a snippet in the summary, so you'll have to read it.
Poetry: Love, K, English, Angst, words: 44, favs: 1, 8/18/2008
Inside Outside
Unedited, incomplete, but somehow it still came out pretty decent. Several stanzas from one who tries to live her life after her world has fallen apart.
Poetry: Life, K, English, Hurt/Comfort, words: 107, 8/18/2008
Creator of Worlds
Short. I guess experiencing passion and embracing its expression qualifies me as a Creator of sorts? "As I open my mind,/ the dust of inspiration/ settles upon/ the ghosts of hidden souls."
Poetry: Love, K, English, Spiritual, words: 66, 8/18/2008
Ode to Your Body
Short. Rated for topic, I guess. A more-or-less wholesome expression of appreciation for the way you make me feel. "I was meant to be driven outside my mind with desire/ seemingly unquenchable"
Poetry: Love, T, English, Romance, words: 122, favs: 1, 8/18/2008
Past 60 Days and Counting
Pattern similar to 'Closer to Fine' by the Indigo Girls. Country style dialect. As if you needed another song to tell you that breaking up is hard. "i'm past livin' as an empty shell/ just goin' through the motions/ but never movin' forward."
Poetry: Song, K, English, Hurt/Comfort, words: 332, 8/18/2008
These Are Lies
I... am not sure where this came from. Also an old piece. I guess at some point you get so good at falling in love that you can pretend anyone is your inspiration. And at some point you realize that's not what you want.
Poetry: Love, K, English, words: 150, 8/18/2008
untitled 2
Stream-of-consciousness poem. Not fantastic to be honest, but I like some of the lines. Break-ups can be hard... "and in 6 months it seems that nothing's really changed"
Poetry: Love, K, English, Hurt/Comfort, words: 288, 8/18/2008
Moment
Loose rhythm, no rhyme. Rated for topic, I guess. Lose yourself in her eyes and forget that word: 'adultery.' "thoughts of desire, passion, and even doubt/ flow through my shivering veins./ my very soul quivers in anticipation,/ as I drink your beauty"
Poetry: Love, T, English, Romance, words: 192, 8/18/2008
This is Me
Tight rhythm. ABAB Rhyme. Slight satire of and similar pattern to "I'll Cover You" from RENT. After a break up, strength comes from within. "You make me weak/ when I could be strong./ You are temptation;/ I know this is wrong."
Poetry: Life, K, English, Hurt/Comfort, words: 162, 8/18/2008

Sunset
Rough compared to my usual work. Social commentary on life. Maybe a bit on my own at the time it was written. Open to interpretation. "Shadows lengthen, hoping to catch/ the last glimpse of fading sun./ Dawn is but a dream away/ and dusk is soon upon us."
Poetry: Life, K, English, words: 158, favs: 1, 8/18/2008
