Hi All!

I'm Kristen and I love reading stories here on fictionpress.com and fanfiction.net (I read under the same username at fanfiction.net). I honestly believe that some of the authors here have real potential to be multi-million dollar New York Times best sellers. Reading is what gets me through the tough times and I love going back over my favorite stories over and over while I wait for the next update, so please update soon so I don't memorize a story (I really need the brain space for accounting formulas and business law codes... oh college how I love thee).

I really don't plan on writing or ever posting, I am definitely a reader and not a writer. But who knows maybe I will post one of crazy dreams from la-la land that sometimes occur during statistics (and then maybe I can be the next Stephanie Meyer... or maybe I'll just keep reading). I have incredible respect for all those that do post here, you have more talent and courage than I can ever expect of myself, putting yourself out there for me and the entire world to read and review. I try to only post positive reviews because no one needs harsh criticism when they are just having fun, but if you ask for it I will take my red pen to your story (not to brag or anything I did get do every well on the AP English test, was the copy editor and eventual senior editor on the yearbook, and I do have a few years of college writing under my belt). FYI nothing bothers me more that spelling mistakes and bad grammar, spell check people!! I understand a few mistakes here and there, nobody's perfect, but as an author it makes you look uneducated and unprofessional and distracts the reader from your otherwise fabulous story.

I love reading all sorts of stories but I am a die hard romantic so most of my favorite stories are romances. I also like reading supernatural stories (particularly vampires and werewolves) that have a romantic element. Oh, and I love reading stories where there is a strong male lead that woos the female lead. Stories that have a strong plot line are the best, I am not so fond of a "day of in the life of..." style stories where the author just recounts the day to day drama of a character. Get a point a people! However, I love nice long stories where I can develop a connection with the characters and I feel that multi-part stories and series are the best way to it.

On a final note, nothing makes me sadder than seeing my favorite authors and stories disappear from the site. I understand when an author comes to the point in her life where she can no longer continue with writing, as I have tried and grown out of many things in my 20 - going on 21 - years (ah! I'm so old!), but I still love to go back over and read many great stories that have been discontinued. Please, please allow me to read your story even when you are done with it because I love just as much as you did when you were still writing it.

I feel there is nothing worse than people when people take something that is not theirs and take all the credit for it. I really don't see the point of it anyway, it is not doing the plagiarizer any good. They are neither making anything off of it nor getting any real world credit for it. In addition, how do they feel about themselves knowing that their best idea was someone else's, talk about self-confidence issues. As I said earlier, nothing makes me sadder than seeing a favorite story of mine taken down and this seems to be happening more and more frequently as plagiarism plagues the site. So please, let's just enjoy each other's work by reading and reviewing and not copy and pasting.

xoxo,

Kristen
