Hello !

My name is Clémentine, I am a soon-to-be-18 French student who is, actually, just starting her first year in college, studying political sciences. I enjoy reading, especially in the fantasy or historical genre, and writing, mostly in the fantasy genre. I have finished a book before, in French, though the publishers have not deemed it worthy enough to be published (an understandable decision, when I re-read what I have written; though I have not given up on it and plan to rewrite it one day).

I am currently writing a (fantasy) story in English, and have about a hundred pages so far.

I read in both French and English, but I also a fairly good grasp on Spanish (unfortunately NOT orally). My favorite authors include Tolkien, Goodkind, Carey, R.A.Salvatore (and the whole Forgotten Realms series), Jane Austen, Elizabeth Hayden and Ken Follet. There are also several 'classical' authors I enjoy: Whitman, Blake, Zola, Laclos, Pascal, Corneille, Racine and Molière. Sometimes I massively read manga (often as a stress reliever. Some smoke, some drink; I read manga :P), but few have ever stayed with me. Those that have, though, are Hoshin (which introduced me to Chinese history; curious, isn't it?), Cat Street, Hana-Kimi, GALS (fun for relaxing) and Glass Mask. One Piece can be fun, too.

I have studied Chinese for three years now and find myself drawn to the Chinese world, particularly its history which is fascinating. Chinese literature is also interesting, though I am not at all an expert on the subject. (I loved Su Tong's "I'm the emperor of China".) However, I don't fancy myself knowledgeable enough on the subject to include it in my stories...

As for movies, well, all my critical sense flees whenever I'm in front of a TV screen, so I pretty much like every movie I see, or close. (Stallone's last was a no, though.) In the last mind-blowing kind, I'd quote Inception, Shutter Island, and Avatar (stupendous colors).

I hope this short (?) presentation is enough. If you have any question or advice, feel free to send me an email or a PM. I might take time, but I ought to answer.

So long (and thanks for all the fish) !
