Another Day
In response to the recent school shooting in Florida. I had family members there that day. Luckily they weren't harmed. Other families weren't as fortunate. Mass killings, gun control, mental illness - these are complicated issues. We don't like to think or talk about difficult issues that don't directly affect us. But we're wrong if we think that we're not all in this together..

1Castles And Dungeons In The Sky »
Memoir and manifesto, a two part poem. It makes more sense when both are read. I wrote this a few days before Valentines. That particular time when, at least for me, all the memories of love come at me like a flood - the good, the bad, the what-ifs. Love is magic, let's learn its art and perhaps cast some spells on our sullen world.

3Star Healer
We're capable of becoming highly evolved and interconnected with our thoughts. Even powerful enough to heal each other from great distances. This short poem was created from some thoughts I have about meditation.

5The Girl Outside My Window
This poem is for the girl I encountered one cold winter night. I heard her crying in the alleyway as I lied on my studio floor, succumbed to my own lonely thoughts. For a few brief moments our tears were shared. Our exchange was humbling. Where ever you are, I pray you've found shelter from the lonely streets and i pray your nights are much less bleak..

An Undying Glimpse
I've always been a hopeless romantic. Falling, rather easily, into the strong embrace of passion, in the briefest of moments. Foolish? Maybe. But without regrets. Throughout the years i've been fortunate to connect with a few who seem to prefer living in the mist and mysterious shadows. Those who never seem to stay for long; some inner-sense or longing always pulling them away..

A Call To Passion
Cause our greatest responsibility is to experience our lives through on-going creation. Even if you're not an artist or a writer, your words and actions are powerful forms of creation. In every moment we're in the process of deciding who we are. Acts of compassion and love can truly transform peoples lives. Don't ever question your importance or your strength. Transcend.. Evolve..

Everlasting
I wrote this for a great friend of mine who lost someone near and dear to her recently. Though the ones we love sometimes leave our reality, rather abruptly, they still exist some place higher. Their pure and everlasting essence carries on, living in everything we see and living in everything we can't see, even within ourselves..

A Pain Concealed
I wrote this for a friend who's going through a rough time in her life. Though no one can truly claim to have walked in someone else's shoes, we're all vulnerable to the human condition. Isolation and despair inevitably touches each of us. Some more than others. But like the yin and the yang, surrendering to the pain can allow us to find peace and comfort. This too shall pass..

Till then
Honest friendships are so damn rare. It's why i cherish them over everything. I've had to let go of quite a few over the years. Some, many years ago. Others, very recently. To a few i never even got to say goodbye. They simply chose to vanish. I'm not exaggerating when i say that losing a friend grips and strains my heart. It's painful. May our paths cross again one day..

Becoming Sober
I've had a long relationship with alcohol and not always in the most responsible of ways. It's put me in very scary and dangerous situations. Too many different situations to even want to think about. Yeah, it's fun to drink but i think some people, like myself, are better off just staying away. I had a conversation with a good friend today which prompted me to want to write this.

What i fear
Somedays i feel like i'm on the brink of really getting to know a person. Then somedays i'll feel like we're worlds apart. That alienation really gets to me and bothers me. Sometimes I feel like such an outsider with people i should feel comfortable with. Know what i mean?

You and I
I was listening to Mumford and Sons while i wrote this poem. Amazing music. Pure bliss. If you need inspiration they can give it to you. "Awake my soul" "Roll Away your Stone" "Thistle and Weeds"... Anyway, my thoughts while writing this poem were in different places but it all came from the heart. Interpret it how you wish. Society, friendship, love, God, inner strength...

Comfortably numb
Yeah, I was listening to Pink Floyd when i wrote this last night. It was the title of their song that caught my attention though. "Comfortably Numb". It reminded me of how I try to feel, or not feel, whenever i attempt to meditate or pray, which i haven't done in a while, shame on me. And the candle light in my room was casting dancing shadows on my ceiling.

Each Moment
Wrote this the other night thinking about how short and precious life is. We can't live or dwell on the past and we can't constantly look towards the future hoping to find happiness. The only thing that counts is this moment. Right now. It's the only thing thats real.

Deja vu
I wrote this poem years ago when sh*t hit the fan and everything sucked, day in and day out. I have no idea where i put the original so it took me the better part of an hour to remember it again. lol
