Cavan is a simple shepherd boy. He's not special, he isn't the strongest, the bravest, or the smartest. But he's got a good life. Until orcs come and destroy his entire life. Fueled by vengeance he goes to join his lord's army. Along the way he learns of the magic around him, and the dark history of his world and later unwillingly starts his journey to achieving his destiny.

A man rides his bike home down a dark street and comes face to face with a demon. Since then he sees it every night in his dreams, he goes to a therapist for help. He tells him what happened and how he wants to kill himself, he can't take it anymore. The therapist decides he can believe his crazy story and asks him a single question. A shepherd boy watches over his flock, he is content. He wants to only be a shepherd but his destiny includes no such peace. One day he will be greater than he can imagine, and he'll hate every second of it. He'll make friends closer to him than family and enemies who want his head on a pike.
