My Stories 49
Building A Snowman
My first attempt at writing a sonnet, I hope you like it. Inspired by playful events from my life, and all the love I held for a woman. I was happy to be home, and so proud of my five nieces, and that smiling snowy monument we erected in fun, and with love. May your lives be as joyous, or even better friends. Stay warm by the fire, and Goodnight.

Sharing
A little poem inspired by the latest offering from Amoridere , called "I love you" a prolific writer and artist whose works I've recently become enthralled with. I hope others here find some time to partake of that portfolio as well. Fond thoughts always: Woedin

A Pale Little Ghost
What can I say about this poem? I was trying to stay awake on a 12 hour watch. When I went on deck to get some air, I was reading the first chapter of "The Forgotten Spirit" by night9shade. And my mind wandered off with the ambiance around me, thinking of ghosts. So I flipped on notepad and started typing. After some coffee, I think this the final version. Thank you night9shade !

Process Of Drowning
When one throws caution to the wind and leaps, we're often for good or ill surprised where, and how we land. But I know from experience living it, that its always going to be a journey in your life, you'll never forget.

A Forlorn Engineer
Sometimes I wrestle with feelings of uselessness. When I can fix almost anything tangible that's broken, given only time, tools, and parts. But when it comes to emotion, or repairing a relationship, I've been unable to mend two loving, and troubled hearts.

Under A Sturgeon Moon
An unexpected correspondence from a person once very close to me. She wanted to know with all that's been happening of late, if I was okay. Her kind letter birthed an introspection, and awoke some old feelings. Her message also inspired this offering. Strange times indeed my friends, I hope and pray that you all continue to flourish during this trying year, please stay safe.

Margaritaville
A new port, a new poem. Maybe thinking a bit about home. About having my cake, and eating it too? A line from a old song stuck replaying in my head. "Wasting away again, in Margaritaville" All jumbled together with some early morning views of a Car-Ferry crossing this bay, as we were coming in one misty morning. Probably not a very relatable offering, but any thoughts, are welcome.

Sweet Seabreeze
"Merrily, merrily, life's but a dream" Our real lives can at times, truly feel like the most beautiful dream, hold onto, and saver those moments for as long as you can my friends. Sadly such things come so ever more rarely as the years ebb away.

STARDUST
I leave tomorrow, seems like a long wait till then. Whether I sleep or not the sun will rise, and I'll again find myself on a half empty plane flying south to board my ship. Part of me, strangely grateful to be going. More so then I can ever remember feeling before. Was I always blind to how things are, or did I just disembark from my last trip right into the Twilight Zone?

Dreams And Tears
I feel so heavy I long to float again, and return to the sea. I want to breath free once more with peaceful thoughts, and restful sleep. I wish to leave behind these nightmares and salty tears. I'd so hoped for better from my neighbors, and from the young still in college. I pray we may find away to understand one another without the brutality. God bless you all, and keep you safe.

A Hammer Forged Heart
A poem written for a close friend, whose long term relationship tragically ended abruptly. After some time seeing her suffer with melancholy. I'd hoped an empathetic poem might be of encouragement to her. With all the caution that she was comfortable with, in considering taking the chance at finding love once more. I thank you for the gift of your time, and any comments shared.

I wish for you little sister, on your Birthday today. All the best fortunes, and blessings God can bestow. I do thank you dear girl, for ever being there for me when I was in such need. And at a time in my life when so many I'd placed faith in, were not. I Love you sis, always. Happy Birthday

Paradox or Enlightenment
"If I then said, that you can't believe what I say, then can't you say, that you believe what I said?" I offer here thirteen short paradoxical streams of conscious thought. Some of which have caused me to ponder the contradictions of individual perception, that can also be surprisingly true.
